At Southmoreland Thursday, the Derry boys track team lost to Southmoreland, 69-81. First place finishers included Justin Huss (400, 200), Dom Reffo (300H), Keith Rager (Discus), Robert Boyer (Javelin, Triple Jump), Cam Washburn (Pole Vault), and the boys 4×400 team of Huss, Reffo, Damian Morales, and Christian Bartlebaugh. With the loss, Derry falls to 3-1 in section play.
On the other side, the girls defeated Southmoreland, 88-57. First place finishers included Tara Perry (100H, Triple Jump), Danielle Cramer (300H), Mary Trinclisti (3200), Destiny Roberts (Shotput), Caitlin Crook (Discus), Maria Balega (Javelin), Madison Clayton (Long Jump), the 4×800 team of Trinclisti, Sydney Williams, Bethany Allen, and Emily Bolish, and the 4×100 team of Perry, Leah Perry, Clayton, and Danielle Mullen. The girls remain undefeated in section play.
Congratulations to Tara Perry for breaking the school record in high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 2 and a half inches!
